Alternative
The July alternative built in the UK
People look for a July alternative for ordinary reasons: a job it does not cover, a price that moved, or a product that grew in a direction they did not. This page is the honest version for UK agencies: what changes on Herd, what you give up, and how the move actually goes.
Talent management software for creator managers, built around rosters, media kits, campaign reporting, commission splits and payouts. For a lot of people that is enough, and if it is enough for you there is no reason to move.
Herd is a UK product with three sides in one account. Creators run content, deals, contracts and invoices. Brands run campaigns, review content and pay creator invoices by card. Agencies run a roster with commission splits and white-label client portals. Herd costs £1,999/month for agencies, billed in pounds. That breadth is the whole trade: Herd covers more of the week, and in a few places it covers it less thoroughly than July does.
The rest of this page is the practical version: what lands in the same account when you switch, what you give up by leaving July, what it costs in pounds, and the order to do the move in. There is no importer, so it is manual work, and that belongs above the pricing table rather than under it.
What changes when you switch
Each line below is something we could not find in July's published feature list when we checked on 21 September 2026, or a difference in how the two are priced. On Herd they are part of the same account, which is the practical difference a switch makes.
Not in July
No creator-facing product, so your creators cannot run their own content, invoices or inbox alongside you.
Not in July
No brand side, so campaign invitations and approvals do not close the loop.
Not in July
No social publishing, content calendar or video editor.
Not in July
No Gmail or Outlook inbox and no in-app video meetings.
Different on Herd
USD only, billed quarterly, with the upper tiers priced on request.
Not in July
No client portal is listed on the pricing page.
In practice that means the roster, the deals and the brand relationships in one account, commission taken out of the payment through Stripe Connect when the brand pays, and a client reading their own white-label portal on a link you can revoke. The portal is a Herd link with your name and colour on it, not a custom domain.
What you would give up
A switch costs you something. These are July's advantages, not ours, and any one of them can be a good reason to stay where you are.
- Purpose-built commission splits and invoicing for talent managers, which is exactly the job.
- Auto-updating rosters, media kits and pitch decks, which saves a manager real hours.
- Much cheaper for a small roster: $50 a month plus $6 a creator against £1,999 a month.
- Slack support, listed on the Pro plan.
Moving over
There is no importer. Herd cannot read a July export, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it. Moving is manual, for most people an afternoon rather than a fortnight, and this is the order that leaves the fewest gaps.
Re-enter the roster
Export your roster and re-enter the creators in Herd, then invite them to their own accounts.
Set the commission rate
Set the agency default commission rate in Herd before you route the first invoice.
Connect Stripe
Connect Stripe Connect in Herd so commission is transferred when the brand pays.
Rebuild the media kit and rate card
Rebuild live pitch decks as Herd media kits and rate cards. There is no import.
Run both for one cycle
Run both for one billing cycle so no commission line is missed in the handover.

Commission and payouts
Commission comes out of the payment, not out of a chase
When a brand pays a routed invoice, Stripe Connect splits it: the creator share goes to the creator, the agency share goes to the agency. Nobody invoices anybody afterwards for the difference, and the ledger exports as CSV with the transfer status on every line.
- A default agency commission rate, applied when the brand pays.
- Payouts settle into the agency Stripe account, not a Herd balance.
- A CSV export of the whole commission ledger, transfer status included.
Moving from July
- No. Herd has no importer for July. You rebuild the pages that matter, re-enter the live work, connect Stripe and leave finished work where it is. The steps on this page are the whole job.
- Yes, and for a month or two that is usually the sensible way to do it. Nothing in Herd depends on July being switched off, so you can let a reporting cycle or a billing period finish before you cancel.
- Herd does not publish to LinkedIn or Pinterest, has no link-in-bio page, no affiliate link or sales attribution, no Shopify integration and no audience-demographics database of its own. Agencies get an external index of 300M+ public profiles; brands search the creators who are on Herd.
- Every figure was checked on 21 September 2026 against the source linked above. Prices and plan contents change, so read July's own pricing page before you decide, and tell us at support@herduk.co.uk if something here is out of date.
